This quote shows that Starr’s dad is a hypocrite, and a racist as well. He is making fun of Chris’ name, and he talks about interracial couples badly. You would think that someone who wanted everyone to be equal regardless of color would like interracial marriage. But instead he doesn’t like Starr dating Chris because he is white.
