In this quote, the author uses repetition through the word “us.” This conveys unity throughout Starr’s community. It shows that they are all dealing with this situation together, and that it effects them all. Thomas also shows my thesis to come true through “My silence isn’t helping us.” This displays that Starr is going to begin to speak up, and be the voice of the rebellion.
I agree with this because it shows what people do in real life. Using the word “us” helps people feel like everyone is in it together.
